Matthew Jones is a Georgia native who grew up in Acworth, Georgia, and currently lives with his wife and two dogs in Gainesville, Georgia. After graduating from Harrison High School, Matt attended the University of Georgia, and graduated in 2009 with a dual degree, a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. While at UGA, Matt lived for a summer in Valencia, Spain and studied at the Universitat de València in order to complete his Spanish Degree.
After spending some time working in a metal factory in Carrollton, Matt attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and graduated cum laude in 2013. While at Mercer, Matt received a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting; served as brief captain of the Ruby B. Vale Moot Court team; Look at the Law Editor of the Mercer Law Free Press; and President of the Student Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
Prior to joining W. Calvin Smith, II, P.C., Matt worked for two insurance defense firms around Georgia – one in South Georgia and the other in the North Metro Area. At these firms, he practiced estate litigation, commercial litigation, premises liability insurance defense, and general civil litigation. Matt now uses his accumulated knowledge to help individuals fight for their rights and obtain fair compensation for their injuries.
Matt is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia, and is admitted to practice before all State and Superior Courts in Georgia, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia.
